We are farmers
and we make wine.
We are Sergi and Marina, the fifth generation of farmers at Cal Sení and the first who, in 2018, began giving value to the grapes from our vineyards through wine.
Our path has no manuals or written recipes. It is built with the patience and support of all the people who accompany us and help us move forward with this small project that is Masia Can Sení.
For us, every step is a way to keep cultivating the story our ancestors began. A story made of soil and time, which we continue to care for, work on, and share today with the same honesty with which they taught us to love the land and the environment around us.
1958. Santa Fe del Penedès.
Masia Can Sení was born in the heart of Penedès, the fruit of five generations of farmers who have lived with their hands in the soil and their eyes set on the vineyard.
Our story begins in 1958, when Grandpa Josep bought the Cal Sení estate in Santa Fe del Penedès, a small village of just over 300 inhabitants in the heart of Penedès. He was a man of the land and of slow rhythms, devoted to agricultural services and to his loyal mule, Morenu, with whom he went out to plow. Together, they carved furrows that not only marked the fields but also traced the path we still follow today. An ancient, stubborn, and noble craft that we continue to defend with passion, because it is our way of understanding the world.
Thanks to him, and later to our father, we learned that the vineyard is a teacher of life: it shows us that nature sets the pace, that time demands patience, and that patience can only be earned through the art of knowing how to observe.
Zero chemical intervention
A pure, clean, and honest wine is, paradoxically, a wine of maximum intervention: the conscious decision not to add anything that does not come from the vineyard. No chemicals in the vineyard, no artifices in the cellar. Only absolute respect for nature, for our land, and for what it offers us.
Each grape is also a rejection of a society that has made us consume and tried to make us believe what suited it. It is our way of breaking that cycle and returning to the essence, looking back in order to move forward.
Our practices have a clear goal: to care for our health and that of our planet.
We are farmers, we harvest grapes, and we make wine. A living wine, one that evolves and will continue to tell our way of life inside every bottle.
Our wines
We craft single-varietal wines from natural grapes, with the aim of highlighting our native varieties and showcasing them as they truly are, in their fullest expression and uniqueness.
Each bottle is a piece of landscape, a liquid memory that speaks of the land and the cycle. These are living wines, proudly rooted in the territory, that respect nature and everything around us.
We present to you the fruit of a shared story, of the lessons we’ve received, and of all the people who have taught us to love and work the vineyard with our hearts in our hands.
